Institutions dealing with research and development (e.g., research institutes, universities, companies) and research-financing organizations that include the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and include those principles into their internal regulations, creating a friendly environment for scientific research and transparent rules for the recruitment of researchers, are awarded by the European Commission. They are conferred with the "HR Excellence in Research" award.  This award scheme is one of the activities of the European Commission in the framework of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, focused on increasing the attractiveness of working conditions of researchers in the EU. These activities are intended to increase the number of research staff of European scientific institutions. The European Commission supports entities implementing the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. Such institutions hold meetings and discussions with the participation of all the entities involved. In addition, it promotes institutions, international organizations, and research centres that provide scientists with the best working conditions and development opportunities. In February 2016 the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce undertook an action to start an application process for the “HR excellence in research” award in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. To this end, the Implementation Committee was set up, composed of the managers of key units and representatives of the University management and faculties.  As part of the Committee's activity, a survey was carried out assessing the advancement of the implementation of principles contained in the Charter and in the Code. The survey was prepared on the basis of "Example of a standard template for the internal analysis". It made it possible for the academic community to express their views on the university’s compliance with the Charter and the Code rules. The survey was done between June 17 and July 2, 2016, in the form of an online questionnaire sent to employees engaged in scientific research in our universities. The charts below present the results of the survey:
