Welcome Day zapoczątkował 2-tygodniowy Orientation Programme, przygotowany we współpracy z Ośrodkiem Języka Polskiego i Kultury Polskiej oraz Uczelnianym Ośrodkiem Kultury. W ramach Orientation Week nasi goście uczestniczyli w szeregu wydarzeń, które pozwoliły im na lepsze poznanie polskiego języka, historii, kultury i lokalnych zabytków. W pierwszym tygodniu poświęcili dwa dni na eksplorację miasta Siedlce i jego atrakcji, odwiedzając m.in. Muzeum Regionalne i Diecezjalne, zakłady produkcyjne Stadler i Mostostal, Bibliotekę Miejską i Urząd Miasta, gdzie spotkali się z prezydentem Siedlec, panem Andrzejem Sitnikiem.
W sobotę przygotowano dla nich wycieczkę do pobliskiego Liwu, gdzie zwiedzili Muzeum Zbrojownię oraz zespół zamkowy. W niedzielę natomiast udali się do Lublina, aby wraz z miejskim przewodnikiem poznać jego najciekawsze atrakcje: romańską basztę, kaplicę Trójcy Świętej, Stare Miasto oraz trasę podziemną. Codziennie uczestniczyli również w lektoracie języka polskiego, w trakcie którego poznali popularne polskie piosenki oraz nauczyli się tańczyć krakowiaka – modnego w XIX w. w Polsce tańca dworskiego. Ponadto chętnie uczestniczyli w wieczorach karaoke, zorganizowanych dla nich w studenckim klubie PeHa. W planach na najbliższe miesiące jest również Wieczór Kultur, gdzie nasi Erasmusi będą mogli zaprezentować informacje o swoich krajach, a także wycieczka do Warszawy.
Po dwóch tygodniach pełnych atrakcji nasi zagraniczni studenci z nową energią i zapałem ruszyli na wykłady. Życzymy im wielu sukcesów w nauce oraz pełnej adaptacji w nowym środowisku akademickim!

Welcome Day initiated the 2-week Orientation Program, prepared in cooperation with the Center for Polish Language and Culture and the University Center for Culture. As part of Orientation Week, our guests participated in a number of events that allowed them to learn more about the Polish language, history, culture and local monuments. In the first week they spent two days exploring the city of Siedlce and its attractions, visiting, among other things, the Regional and Diocesan Museums, Stadler and Mostostal production plants, the City Library and City Hall, where they met with the President of Siedlce, Mr. Andrzej Sitnik. On Saturday, they had a trip to the nearby village of Liw, where they visited the Armory Museum and the castle complex. On Sunday, on the other hand, they went to Lublin to get to know the city’s attractions, such as the Romanesque tower, the Holy Trinity chapel, the Old Town and the underground route. Every day they also participated in a Polish language course, during which they learned popular Polish songs and learned to dance krakowiak - court dance fashionable in the 19th century in Poland. In addition to this, they participated in karaoke evenings organized for them in the student club PeHa. In the upcoming months we are also planning the Evening of Cultures, where our Erasmus students will have an opportunity to present information about their countries, as well as a trip to Warsaw.
After two weeks full of attractions, our foreign students may start their lectures with new energy and enthusiasm. We wish them many successes in learning and full adaptation in the new academic environment!
